Seeing Stars, Winter Solstice and One Heart

Everywhere I looked this week, I saw stars.
Tonight on this Winter Solstice, continuing with December's
"wishes and stars"...
I wish you all much light and love and a basket full of wishes upon a star to come true!

Now, for a few of those stars...

I found this paper-thin dried tomato out in the back forty.
I love the lacy look and the fact that there are tiny seeds inside, which make a great soft rattle when I shake the tomato.

*As always click on photos to enlarge*

When I turned it over...a star!

Driving to work last week...wait...what's that?

Do you see it?
Not easy at 45MPH!

Yep. another star!

A few days later...

Hey, more stars...bright red ones!

Upon stopping to make a photo of them I notice more!

A pretty tacky star...a flower star,
both of which actually looked pretty cool when lit up on my dark drive home.

There were so many holiday light stars on the way home last night.
Everywhere I looked, I saw another one!

Yesterday, a co-worker wore a star shirt she created on a whim.
Evidently her shirt was stained, so she took a marker and
colored a huge star on it to cover up the stain and then added a few
smaller stars as well!

Last star in this week of stargazing was noticed right next to me
on the end table next to my side of the couch...
a star from my dear Michelle in NYC.

I wonder where I'll find stars next week?!!

May you look to the stars and dream.
May your heart hold much love and peace through this Solstice Season.

Daylight Stars

All last week, while commuting along this stretch of road...
I thought sometimes stars look like shiny bits of road finds.
Gifts really in the eyes of this unknown artist.

Really this whole 'star' thing can look like a metaphor for so many things.

When I see these old hubcaps, rescued from the roadsides and carefully, artfully fastened to the chain-link fence, I think about how they've fallen and risen and currently reside on a dry road along side a very busy highway...
and yet they still shine.

Like us.

Falling Stars

More stars on the cloth
More than I originally planed
Sometimes that's how it goes

Then one fell from the sky
This inspired thought of the passing of Nelson Mandela

Which led to more falling stars
And more reflecting

When recalling this loss
...or those lost

I wish...
May we all live with such courage, grace and foresight.
May we all live with our humanity intact

May we all hold our own light and that of others
in very gentle hands

Stitched Star

I added a few stitched stars to the cloth I'm currently working on.
This cloth is definitely a slow cloth.
I've been working on it since last Spring.

And while this one photographed star may look like a small deal...
to me it's a big deal because it feels so right.
Simple stars landing on this gorgeous richly colored fabric.

I love it!
The whole cloth is really growing on me.

There will be a sprinkling of stars along this strip of dark blue night.
Perfect for wishing on.

Stars & Wishes

Over at Diaries, December is a time of Stars and Wishes.
So of course, in just the last couple of days, I've gotten an email with
"starcatchers" in the title and heard an advertisement on the radio for a play
And it's only December 3rd!

Visually, everything is coming up stars and wishes too!

Can't wait to see where the rest of the month takes me!

I did a bit of star drawing and pondering and planning.
Star stitching will come soon enough :)

What have you been up to?
