Wild World

In so many ways...it feels like a Wild World...I came upon this version and was impressed with his voice still sounding so much the same, from so many years ago. I got goosebumps watching and listening to So Many People singing along to a beloved song...the young ones - not even born when this song came out! I still have my 45. I wish I could figure out what to do with all of my records.

Lunch Grapes...which may have inspired food people...

Monday's Banana Man was remembered from my teen years, when I was in a local B’nai B’rith Girls chapter in The Valley. There was something about a saying? a chant? about "Go Bananas..." ~ I don't really remember much. I Do recall trying to draw a banana person and coming up with this one...a banana in tennis shoes! The others thought it was 'cute' and I'd never been complimented on my drawing...that was nice. I have no photos of any of the activities or the girls in our chapter. I think I participated for one year, by hearty suggestion on my mother's part. She was always determined to get me involved in something. It took her a long while to realize that is not how introverts roll! Anyway, my heals were pretty well dug in about BBG, because I thought it was going to be super geeky (and I guess I thought I was too cool for that! haha), but the girls were very nice and I did enjoy it while I was involved.  I recall a slumber party and "making taffy" - which was fun. And I remember some kind of 'hay ride' with the local AZA chapter (boys)...which was fun And geeky! haha

Anyway, after the BBG banana on Monday...I decided to create fruit people this week. 🙂 Tuesday was grapes, Wednesday was the apple, Thursday was Pear and Friday had them all cut up into Fruit Salad! Poor fruit people!

I finally did my blood donation to a medical research bank. That felt so good and important.

Especially since we were lighting the Circle of Friends candle again this week for my friend's husband, who was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer and a nephew's daughter fighting pancreatic cancer.

May you remember your past and embrace what is important in your everyday - now

Shawn ~ The Jr. High Artist

Finally. I don't think I've actually recorded this painting~drawing here before, but I know I've mentioned it before, especially to Hazel in viewing her wonderful watercolor paintings. I love this piece of art. My buddy Shawn in Jr. High created this. I was always so impressed with his drawing skills. This was a free time activity that a group of us would do...water color a paper and see what you see in it. I used to do this with school age kids a lot. Shawn executed this idea with the most pleasing results, as seen by the fact that I saved this one of his, none of mine.

I don't think much more background story is needed, you can make up your own from the drawings. I'll only say that I did "boost" the color a bit because of the lighting in here making it hard to get a good pic. I also took lots of pics as I have so many favorite 'guys' to focus on! Additionally, I'm throwing in some old Jude quotes I came upon today. Enjoy.

"...how parts of things can just run into another part..."

~Jude Hill February 2nd, year unknown

"staying in the thought process, instead of just planning, designing and then executing...it's more of planning and designing at every stage of it"

~Jude Hill February 2nd, year unknown

"It's not always important to remember. It's interesting but..."

Jude Hill ~ 9-17-year unknown, first audio recording

"I like it because of what it isn't (perfection)"

May you remember, forget and hang onto some of the good old ones!
