5 Things Friday

 ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

5 Things Friday

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Monday - Friday

A thought, a photo. a video, an idea a day for a week or a clump of them ahead of time - 5 of them

That's what I've been doing since March.

Here is this week in review!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

1. MONDAY

Monday, I pulled into a parking place at work only to see this beautiful hummingbird,

very busy in the  morning sun. It was so shimmery!

2. TUESDAY

Taco Tuesday a part of the month's Teacher Appreciation celebrations. Yum & Thanks!!

3. WEDNESDAY

Lunch Break: sunshade in my windshield. 76 degrees, felt like 96 degrees.

Why am I always so darn hot these days, even when the temps don't demand that? Ugh.

4. THURSDAY (2 pics, my game, my rules! 😉)

Typical lunch: raw, healthy and good 🍊🍇 🍅🥗

5. FRIDAY (again, more than one photo, which totally undoes the whole 5 Thing Friday - I know. Plus I took 'em on Thursday, so I could post Friday AM before work! haha Again...my game, my rules though! lol)

From top to bottom:
The most expensive gas station I pass each day. I've actually seen this particular station on the news during stories about the high cost of gas. Whatever you are paying, I can guess CA is paying more. 😟

Church sign: I've read this churches' signs for years. They put the oddest things. Truly. I'm pretty sure I've posted a couple here before. This one really was really out there! What could their sermon be about? All I could think of though was work...so I took it literally!

The teeniest squirrel I have ever seen, noticed while at a red light. It was darting around in the bushes and then hopped down into the gutter. It must be a young one, which leads me to the question, why are all young animals so darn cute?!

May you continue, one day after the other, adding up to many wonderful days.
May you follow, make, bend, break the rules as needed.
May you look and find, always.

PS I'm in need of some yellow yarns for a medicine bag. I have none that read YELLOW.

If you have any and would like to send some snips on to me, I'd greatly appreciate it. I use such small amounts for these weavings, it makes no sense to purchase the several skeins needed for variety, for the little bit I'd use. 🙂 If you're interested in sending bits...THANKS!

Fire, Fire, Fire

There's a fire
Not super close, but close enough to make bad air worse
Like, I've said, I don't quite worry as I did in the old place
(How long will it be the old place and this the new place?)
Peeking down the corridor, see the cloud of smoke?

At any rate, there has been three or more fires in my general
area in the past week or so
I think I'm loosing track

I found this site while checking the yesterday
There's a lot!

A closer squeeze look
It's fairly breezy

I think of Grace and my sister,
as they are in higher risk areas

I did put on shoes, takes camera and keys
and go through the three doors
to check it out out back

Doesn't it feel like Nature has gone awry?
I mean I know it hasn't really.
We have fires every year
We have hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes...

Corridor Moon the other night

This darn pandemicpresidentunemployment...add your own concern,
just gets to me some days

Thank goodness for Happy Mail!

Yarn...Thanks Hazel!
Sample Pack...Thanks Liz!
I seem to usually write in a circle,
landing between the ups and downs of life

The Century Plant did not get to live out its lifespan
I was so sad to see this a week ago
My best guess is that it was starting to arc over,
which would have put it right over the entrance to the building
Yikes! Not exactly safe for the seniors and others going in and out

Goodbye Century Plant

Seedpod
I was born!
I'm still wading through the old stuff
slowly, but it IS getting done!
Been deep into my mom's papers,
like her calendar from the day I was born

It's like being with her all over again
Hi mom!

Mom
Hummingbird
May you stay safe
May you get out
May you go within
May you be how and where you need to be to move through these days

Summer Storm

I notice a certain smell...hear a certain sound.
Is it?
YES!!!  Yes, it is a summer storm!
I run outside, head back, arms spread wide.
Raindrops the size of loose pocket change.
First one, then a few...then many pound the pavement, pound the brown earth.  The flash of light warns me.  The crack of thunder fills me.   The scent of rosemary holds me.
There is nothing, and I mean Nothing like a summer thunderstorm!
As the clouds shift and move, begin to clear, the hummingbirds come out to play!  And there are many visiting today!
They zoom and feed and fly right by me, buzzing loudly.
They seemed to love the fresh rain air as much as I do!
