I've still been with the cloth diaper, which I've named "Comfort".
I have a few ideas of what I want to do and why.
All of it very simple, holding lots of open space.
This one will travel on.
It is a special gift.
The last you saw, I had begun to add some green.
It has grown up in a stem stitch, vine-like to the top of the woven & bead section.
Dye shapes and green vine
There are a few areas of the dye that hold images to fill your imagination.
In the one above, I like little fan lines on the right or the
almost an elephant with it's head on the left.
Dog
In this image, I see a dog...or maybe a cow.
The black areas are from a rusty nut!
Goat
In some moments, I see a goat looking straight at me in this one.
This picture is a bit light to see it, but maybe you do.
Last night I added this:
Tiny
It is very tiny, woven right on top of the cloth.
Zoom
See how tiny it is!!

I'm not sure what will come next, but I'm patient.
This cloth (so far) has been such a pleasure to work on for the following reasons:
1. I like the dye marks.
2. It is so easy to stitch on.
3. It is an easy size to take with me everyday (even if I don't have time to work on it).
4. The woven parts feel very soft and flexible.
5. It is open and simple, I like that.
6. It brings back good memories of my daughter's childhood.
With that last thought in mind, I've decided to continue creating with these cloth diapers.
I have several left (I'll have to count them).
All of them will be dyed.
They will be a series called "Comfort".
That's the plan thus far.
As always, thanks for looking,
Nancy

this is all very special! love the idea of transforming cloth diapers into a series named Comfort; I too saw the animals and that tiny weave: superb
I see what you see, too, Nancy. What a great beginning to Comfort -- I can imagine the softness and the luxury of sewing on it. And sweet memories of sweet babes.... xoxo

cool! I wish I hadn't given my boys diapers away... they make such good cleaning cloths, too. It is fun looking for things in the dye marks, isn't it? I will enjoy seeing where you go with this. The woven 'postage stamp' is just great.
How lovely to be sewing on old soft diapers. Brings back memories. The dye figures are wonderful. I love looking for them in clouds so this is perfect
