Adding Wordless on the Word Cloth

"When there are nine"
Rest in Peace
RBG

"

Was stitching this when I heard of her passing
(more on that later)
Then along came the 9-patch,
for the 9 seats on the Supreme Court.

Stitched in black & white
male & female
right & wrong
yes & no
Justice

Simple and clear, for a very confused time.

 May she rest well
May we find the peace we need
May a balance return

This was a gut punch, even though expected, I hoped and prayed that she could remain with us long after the election. Her passing leaves such a hole in our world and in the hearts and minds of young girls everywhere. My granddaughter's favorite "Who Is" book was the one on Ruth Bader Ginsberg:

A little story: on a vacation trip with her parents and brother to Oregon, the family stopped in a little cafe for lunch. On the walls were drawings sof many powerful women. Rowie, my granddaughter navigated the family to the table under Ruth Bader Ginsberg's drawing and a lovely photo was taken of her under RBG's portrait.

With respect, reverence and gratitude for a life lived in the service of others. One of my favorite RBG quotes:

"I tell law students… if you are going to be a lawyer and just practice your profession, you have a skill—very much like a plumber. But if you want to be a true professional, you will do something outside yourself… something that makes life a little better for people less fortunate than you."

Apologies for spelling Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s name incorrectly…

As hopeless as it is, I dared to dream the Supreme Court would issue a unanimous decision that they will not accept a new member until after the election ...

Michelle~ Yes. Help us all. Did you see the folks gathering on the steps of the court, and now the memorial there...

Marti~ A very good quote indeed! Hearing her clerks remember her with so much respect and reverence was something. Your grand-girl is a smart cookie!

Liz~ We can dream?!
