Surgery Update

Hello all.
For those of you who haven't seen my updates on FB...
just a quick post to say...
doctors said all "went well" and I am now in he healing process.
The surgery was  NOT fun.
The healing is NOT fun, but it is coming along, bit by bit

I will not post photos
(yes, I have 'em as it is the only way I can track the changes)

I will not post details (it was way worse than I was expecting)

I'm just glad it is done and hopefully I will never need to do this again!

Oh yes, and please wear your sunglasses! Protect your eyes!

Here is something silly to look at until I can go walk about again.
Maybe he needs sunglasses!

May you all be well, heal well and move past anything icky very quickly!
Take care now, ya hear!

So glad it's behind you! Take care. You need your vision, and the world needs your vision, too.

Dee~ Aw, you are so sweet! I'm taking care, believe me (there's not much else to do!) Hoping to be back to myself soon.

oh yikes (((Nancy))) x fingers your eyesight heals perfectly & very soon! I have had a pterygium on my left eye for 30 years (went for a 3 hour ride on my motorcycle with just sunglasses on as my visor was too scratched & had thrown it away, dumb move as the long ride dried my eyes out something fierce, used a whole bottle of eye drops from the chemist to rehydrate them the next day) it hasn't been a bother or grown since am hoping it will remain a non issue...

Oh Mo!!!! I can only imagine how awful that felt! I spoke with a nurse today who told me that I could use the liquid tears (I've had dry eyes before this surgery thing) in between the prescription eye drops. THAT would have been nice to know a few days ago!!! Geez. Mine actually doubled in size in one year, hence the surgery. This thing is angry-ugly now, so I'm ready for that healing :) Thanks for sharing your story, I've never known anyone with this condition. Although one of my nurses said her mom had to have both eyes done! YIKES!

Nancy - I had never heard of this condition before ... scary stuff! You have my best well wishes and hopes for a full recovery with no recurrences. Once is too much ... and man, I hate sunglasses.

Liz~ thank you so much. Day by day, bit by bit. I too hated sunglasses until I found a lens that was a true 'natural' color (Hated the way they made everything look fake and wrong dimensions) and I can wear them inside (like the grocery store), so I don't have switch glasses all the time. The only reason I've worn them for the past 10+ years. Now I give them as baby gifts! Take care

Nancy, may your healing continue as gently as it can. The eyes are the windows to the soul and we need your soulful vision of heartfelt connection via your words, your photos, all that you share with us. You have strength and humor and may that go a long way toward making this time of healing pass...
